Welcome to The Little Big Girl! I decided to create this website after years of struggling with the condition PCOS, and battling weight loss. I started this site when I was a 23 year old college student and as my life became more hectic, struggling with my weight had finally made me want to do something about it! I was diagnosed with PCOS at age 15 and the only other person I knew with the condition was one of my older cousins. It would be several years until I would meet anyone else with the same condition, let alone someone who even knew what PCOS was. The condition is becoming much more well known, as more and more women are being diagnosed. As many as 5 million women in the United States have PCOS.
PCOS is not the only thing that has contributed to my being overweight. I am a full grown woman, however I am only 4'6'' tall. I have an unknown form of dwarfism. I look like your typical "average" female, I am just smaller. Dwarfism has caused me to have constant back pains, as well as knee pain, which has caused me to fear the word exercise for many years. Now, I am at the point in my life where I am ready to grin and bear it through the pain to get fit, and healthy!
This blog will chronicle my daily struggles with food, exercise, self image, and life in general.
I have added a page where you can email me any questions or comments you may have for me, I will be sure to email you back as soon as I possibly can.
I am also adding a recipe page where I will post any healthy recipes I find that worked well for me, so that you can try them at home too!
I am so very much looking forward to building this website and sharing my journey!
Also please follow my best friends story of living with PCOS and being a new mom. http://www.cystermom.weebly.com
Note: I am by no means a medical professional, this website is simply the story of my life and how I have gone through it. If you think you may have PCOS or any other medical condition, please consult your doctor :) If you want some more information here is a website where you can take a free test to see if you may have PCOS http://pcos.insulitelabs.com/PCOS-Self-Test.php. Of course, please still consult your doctor.
